What's happening

We have appointed a new Managing Director

Nigel Heath will take on the position as managing director at this very exciting time for the company. With over 35 years experience in the banking, financial and outsourcing services sectors, working for organisations such as Eaga and Lloyds Bank, Nigel brings with him a wealth of knowledge that will help drive the business forward.

Easibathe was set up 16 years ago by Martin and Denise Cook, selling and installing special needs bathing and hoist equipment to local authorities across the North East. They later established Easiaccess, which provides environmentally friendly access solutions, from small threshold ramps to large metal modular ramps for Local Authorities, Councils, Housing Associations and the private sector.

We have come a long way since our modest beginnings, out of a garage in Holystone, to a 25,000-sqft head office in Dunston and 4,000-sqft warehousing facility in Doncaster. Today, our family run business has developed into a £5m turnover company, employing 55 people and selling our products and services nationwide.

Three years ago, Denise and Martin identified that they needed support in rolling out their sales activities nationally and required someone with that commercial expertise to help them drive this ambition forward. Nigel came on board to support them with this in 2008 following 5 years at Eaga, where he was responsible for establishing an effective national sales operation.

Nigel has achieved this goal for Easibathe and Easiaccess and has been instrumental in the development of their sales team, customer base across the UK and the new warehousing facility in Doncaster, which was opened to support customers in the South of England.

Nigel was appointed Managing Director in December 2010, as Denise and Martin realised that he had the drive and determination needed to take their business to the next level.

As Chairman, Martin Cook will focus on the development of new products and services as well as identifying new markets and business opportunities in the UK and internationally for the company to expand into.

Nigel Heath, Managing Director, said: “I am looking forward to taking the business forward and achieving more success for the company. I have ambitious but realistic plans to increase the company’s revenue by 50% over the next 3 years.

Easibathe is a great company with innovative products and a team that cares passionately about providing solutions that help give those with special needs a greater quality of life.  I am confident that we will continue to grow at a fast pace whilst still providing the exceptional service that we are renowned for,” he adds.

Martin Cook, Chairman of Easibathe and Easiaccess, explains: “The appointment of Nigel is an exciting development for the company. We pride ourselves on having a dedicated team of experts that provide an exceptional service and having the highest quality access products for the adaptation sector in the UK.

I am very pleased to focus my efforts in other areas of the business and for Nigel to take over the operational running of the business in his role as managing director.  I am confident that he will do a great job in driving the business forward”, he adds.
